I took this shot and it occured to me it reminded me of the Eighties and that made me think about going back to school after the summer holidays.  But this time around I feel excited!

Wow my first morning in my first proper art studio – and my painting seemed to respond to the expanded environment. I’m stunned by this start – I have never painted anything remotely like this before! I’m really looking forward to LOTS more time there…

I had intended to take some shots of the beautiful rings in my homegrown beetroot but then I switched to manual focus and was blown away by the colour and texture of this shot. And I’ve had an idea about using these sorts of shots as the basis for paintings somehow. Will be testing this out tomorrow…

Blipfoto really is fantastic – one photo max per day means photo opportunities are on my mind all day every day! Plus you get to see amazing shots from all over the world and find out more about diverse people’s lives. All that and the community is so friendly – always encouraging and positive.

Take a gander at my Blipfoto account and see what you think – hope to catch your shots on there too?!

Today I applied for some MA courses – I suspect I’m under-qualified and of course it is late to be applying I know.  But they look fantastic – and if you don’t try then you definitely don’t get! Wish me luck – I have everything crossed…

It was fantastic selling more photos this week – this abstract limited edition and two other prints. Very exciting!

But they look friendly enough right?!  A little indoor experimentation today.

Been out experimenting with my camera a bit more today – and I realised this is exactly what I’m doing in a wider sense at the moment. Very much turning my how-to-live-my-life automatic focus off and reaching out towards something more fulfilling and creative – even if exactly what it will end up being is not in sharp focus yet. Exciting and scary – that’s the best way right?!
